Villarreal's Joan Oriol: Giuseppe Rossi is ready to join Barcelona

Oriol insists Rossi is adamant on moving to Camp Nou and he feels it will be best for all concerned, while adding the Italian could star in Catalunya.

Villarreal goalkeeper Joan Oriol has claimed that teammate Giuseppe Rossi wants to join Barcelona and he believes that he will be the perfect player for the Champions League winners.

The shot-stopper gave his assessment on the transfer situation just days after Rossi stated that "every player dreams of Barcelona", amid growing reports he will swap El Madrigal for Camp Nou this summer.

"Rossi wants to go to Barcelona," Oriol told COM Radio.

"He hopes [that] everything goes well and that he will be wearing the Azulgrana colors next season."

Barca has been linked with a 30 million euro move for 24 year-old, and while his agent, Federico Pastorello, said talks had progressed with the Spanish side, earlier this week the Yellow Submarine responded by claiming no offer had been received.

Coach Juan Carlos Garrido however conceded that a lucrative offer for the striker would be considered, and Oriol feels Rossi would be fantastic playing under Pep Guardiola.

"Rossi could bring plenty to Barcelona, quality, experience and youth. He is a player who fits the Barcelona profile. I think he is the best player they can sign.

"He would easily adapt there and he would take on the competition well at Barcelona. He knows the risks of moving there."

Reports claim that Bojan Krkic could be included in the deal, with the 20 year-old struggling to gain a starting place at the Catalan giants, and Oriol responded to speculation by stating that the young striker would be a great addition to Villarreal.

"He [Bojan] is a great footballer, the promise of Spanish football and we would welcome him with open arms," added the goalkeeper.
